The Knights of Columbus are committed to defending the right to life of every human being from the moment of conception to natural death.
Whether we are volunteering, educating, advocating, donating, or praying, we are living the Culture of Life. In living our faith, we are examples to others.
The Ultrasound Initiative is the Supreme Featured Program that gives any council the biggest value on their money contributed. As well it should be since this is about saving lives. With this initiative, a council (or group of councils) only has to raise half of the cost of the ultrasound machine. Working with Supreme Council and the local diocese, Supreme will match dollar for dollar what is contributed from the council to purchase an ultrasound machine for a qualifying pregnancy center. Since the inception of the program in 2009, Ohio Knights have raised over $600,000 to place 39 ultrasound machines.
March for Life
The March for Life is held annually in Washington, D.C. near the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision on January 22, 1973. Many councils throughout the Order sponsor trips to participate in the march. A valuable resource for planning your trip can be found here. The next March for Life is January 19, 2018.
When we look at the definition of chaste, we should see that we are all called to be chaste, that being to abstain from extramarital sexual intercourse. We should be examples of living chaste lives. Some programs that can help our youth, and perhaps our adults, are Theology of the Body for Teens and Family Honor.

40 Days For Life – Typically two campaigns during the year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Since 2007, there have been 13,305 documented lives saved. Although the most publicized part of 40 Days For Life is the vigil held near abortion clinics, people can participate through prayer and fasting, constant vigil, and community outreach. The Fall 2017 campaign runs from September 27 through November 5.
International Day of the Unborn on or after March 25 –. As the date was selected to coincide with the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, which is on March 25, but frequently transferred to another date due to Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Easter Sunday, and the Octave of Easter, the date for this activity should also be moved to coincide with this feast day. Also, see information on Fathers for Good.
